Zhytomyr region should set and achieve the most ambitious goals - President at the presentation of the Regional Development Strategy

During a working trip to the Zhytomyr region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in presenting the Regional Development Strategy until 2027.

Starting the meeting, the Head of State noted that the goal of creating strategies for the development of Ukrainian regions is very simple: each region should receive its own road map for the coming years.

"The foundation for such development is the strengths of each region and your active participation. Every inhabitant of a community, village or city should be an active participant in the life of the native region. Be a customer of services from the government, control its work and use of funds, form the agenda on the most important issues," the President said.

According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the formula for Ukraine's success is transparent: a successful region is equal to a successful country. To do this, each region must focus on its advantages.

"The Zhytomyr region has a lot of them, I'm sure. This is a truly unique region and unique figures: it is 85% of all Ukrainian reserves of titanium ores. 80% of total quartzite production. Your land is rich in large deposits of semi-precious stones, has a promising agricultural potential," the Head of State stressed.

In addition, the President noted, the Zhytomyr region has unique natural and climatic conditions. There are more than 200 objects of the nature reserve fund, many of which are of state importance.

"All this provides great opportunities for the development of the recreation and tourism sphere in the Zhytomyr region," Volodymyr Zelenskyy added.

According to the President, the Zhytomyr region should set and achieve the most ambitious goals.

The Head of State reminded that this region has given Ukraine and the world the father of cosmonautics - a scientist, designer of rocket and space systems Sergei Korolev who once said: “You can do it fast, but badly, and you can do it slowly, but well. People will forget that it was fast, but they will remember that it was bad. And vice versa".

"I am not trying to argue with a prominent Ukrainian, but I really want to ask everyone - both the central government and local authorities: let's do both well and, if possible, as fast as possible. Everyone is waiting for this - both Zhytomyr residents and all Ukrainians," Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged.
