Housing for IDPs and Restoration of Affected Communities: The President Met with American Philanthropist Dell Loy Hansen

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with American businessman and philanthropist, founder, and CEO of the Wasatch Group Dell Loy Hansen. The philanthropist spoke about the implemented housing and social projects and presented the new ones.

The Head of State emphasized that Ukraine greatly appreciates the people who have been helping our country since the first days of full-scale Russian aggression.

“Thank you for your support and for the new projects for our people, for Ukrainian families. These include the construction of a new medical center, new schools for Ukrainian children, and housing for IDPs,” the President noted.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Dell Loy Hansen discussed the projects that were already implemented under the support of the Office of the President, Kyiv Regional Military Administration, and local communities.

Among them are the fully inhabited apartments in Kolonshchyna and Sofiivska Borschahivka in the Kyiv region. The houses are inhabited by people who lost their homes due to Russian aggression. In addition, the first two lines of apartments for internally displaced persons in the village of Tarasivka were commissioned. Another line of housing for elderly IDPs will be built in Kolonshchyna.

Dell Loy Hansen presented six new projects. Among other things, he spoke about the Phoenix initiative, under which, in cooperation with the eRecovery state program, damaged housing is being restored in Andriivka, Moshchun, and Makariv. The first hundred houses are to be restored by this December.

In addition, the businessman plans to build a full-cycle center for patients based on the Kyiv Regional Center of Rehabilitation Medicine, as well as schools in ten communities of Kyiv region.
