Plants in the Kharkiv region received orders to modernize railway cars - Volodymyr Zelenskyy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasizes the importance of state support for Ukrainian enterprises, in particular plants on the construction and repair of freight and passenger cars for the needs of Ukrzaliznytsia. The Head of State noted this during a conversation with media representatives in the Kharkiv region.

Answering the question about the lack of involvement of Kharkiv enterprises in the construction and modernization of Ukrzaliznytsia cars, the President said he is aware of this situation.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers to take measures to ensure the state order for the production of rolling stock by the “Panyutyne Car Repair Plant” branch. The Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine has also been established, which, among other things, is working to solve the problems of state-owned enterprises.

"At the Panyutyne plant there was an order for overhaul of 280 cars in July-August, and before that we ordered another 500. We helped quickly, and the people at the plant are grateful," the President said.

280 freight cars are to be repaired by the end of the year, the cost of the order is UAH 90 million.

In addition, a state order for the construction of new passenger cars is planned for 2020-2021, which will allow the use of the capabilities of the Kharkiv Railway Car Manufacturing Plant.

“There are separate orders for the construction of new cars, for example at the Kryukiv plant - 70 cars this year and 100 new cars next year. The Kharkiv plant will also be involved in the production process,” the President said.

At the same time, according to the Head of State, many state-owned plants have a problem of lack of orders in Ukraine.

"The state should first of all support by the state orders," Volodymyr Zelenskyy summed up.
