President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasizes that today, due to the joint efforts of Ukraine and international partners, there is a decrease in the number of cases of violation of the regime of silence in Donbas, although the enemy’s provocations have not stopped.
"Targeted sniper shots have almost stopped, there are really very few of them. Namely, there have been more than 30 victims of sniper fire since the beginning of this year alone,” the President said in an interview for Ukrainian TV channels in the framework of the All-Ukrainian Forum “Ukraine 30. Country Security” in Kyiv.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted that due to international pressure, the possible escalation by the Russian Federation and illegal armed groups on the borders with Ukraine was prevented.
The Head of State noted that Russia had withdrawn only 3,500 of its troops from the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea, and therefore the threat of aggravation persists.
"After all, the number of military and equipment has been increased on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea, temporarily occupied Donbas and along our borders. And as for the contingent and equipment on the borders of Ukraine and Russia - we do not see a decrease there. We also do not see an increase. They are retreating very slowly," the President said.
The Head of State believes that the probability of escalation has decreased over the past month, but "no one can guarantee anything, because in 2014 no one expected such steps from Russia".
"We will believe that there will definitely be no full-scale war," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
