President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he had submitted to the Verkhovna Rada draft amendments to the law "On Diplomatic Service" to make Ukrainian diplomacy more modern and efficient.
“Today, I have submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine draft amendments to the law "On Diplomatic Service." The new norms will make the Ukrainian diplomatic system more modern and contribute to its effectiveness,” the Head of State noted during a meeting with diplomats in Kyiv.
According to the President, the legislative initiative envisages strengthening the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and formalizes the institution of the Special Representative of Ukraine. In addition, the legislation legally establishes the sphere of cyber diplomacy and corresponding relations with our partners, as well as makes the institution of horizontal rotation fully functional.
“And this is still far from everything envisaged by the relevant bill. In particular, thanks to this law, you will all have more tools to realize our foreign policy objectives next year,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy added.
