President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the leaders of the European Union and the United States in a video message to the summit in Paris on support for Ukraine.
In the video address, the Head of State thanked the President of France for holding this meeting, for the recently signed bilateral security agreement within the framework of the G7 Joint Declaration and for every valuable advice on the protection of Ukraine.
“We in Ukraine really appreciate that we have such friends. Thank you, all the leaders and every state that has been helping us for two years of this terrible full-scale war. Together, we have already saved millions of lives. And together we must ensure that Putin cannot destroy our achievements and cannot expand his aggression to other nations,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President of Ukraine told the partners about the recent Russian attack on the town of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region, when a Russian guided aerial bomb damaged more than 50 different objects: a railway station, an Orthodox church, a pharmacy, eight apartment buildings and dozens of shops.
According to the Head of State, only since the beginning of this year and until February 24, Russian aircrafts have dropped 3,203 guided bombs on Ukrainian cities and villages and on our frontline positions.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that this year it is necessary to work together to ensure that Russia loses its deadly advantages, as it has already lost its advantages on land and at sea.
“We have to prove that we can deprive Russia of its air supremacy, its financing of aggression, and its political power. This is a task for the year,” the President of Ukraine said.
The Head of State spoke about the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, in particular, on bolstering the air shield of Ukraine to protect the lives of our people and infrastructure.
The President emphasized the importance of ramping up joint production of weapons and ammunition, cooperation in cyberspace, etc.
Also, according to him, this year must be a time of confiscation of Russian assets and increased sanctions pressure on the aggressor state.
Separately, Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited partners to join the preparation of the first Global Peace Summit to be held in Switzerland.
