Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine held a video conference with the diplomatic adviser to the President of Brazil

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva held a video conference with Diplomatic Adviser to the President of Brazil Filipe Martins.

The main topic of conversation was the further implementation of the agreements between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro against the backdrop of the pandemic. Separately, the interlocutors touched upon the issue of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in combating the effects of coronavirus.

The parties discussed an updated schedule of further high-level contacts. The priority areas of cooperation between Ukraine and Brazil in the trade, economic and investment spheres were outlined. In this context, the importance of holding the seventh session of the Ukrainian-Brazilian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in the near future was noted. According to the interlocutors, such an event, given the COVID-19 pandemic, could be held by video conference.

"Brazil is Ukraine's largest trading partner in South America," Ihor Zhovkva said, emphasizing the need to fill the Ukrainian-Brazilian strategic partnership with specific mutually beneficial economic and investment projects.

Ihor Zhovkva and Filipe Martins also discussed cooperation between the two countries in the military-technical and defense spheres. Particular attention was paid to the joint plans for the further cooperation between the space agencies of Ukraine and Brazil.
