Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine and the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea discussed the exchange of visits at the highest level and the strengthening of the investment component of relations

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine Kwon Ki-Chang discussed the issues of developing political dialogue and strengthening the investment component of bilateral cooperation.

Ihor Zhovkva thanked the Korean party for supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In furtherance of the agreements reached last year during a phone conversation between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in, the interlocutors discussed the exchange of visits at the highest level this year. In particular, the Korean party was invited to take part in the events marking the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence in August this year.

Ihor Zhovkva and Kwon Ki-Chang also discussed the organization of the visit of the President of Ukraine to the Republic of Korea as part of the planned Asian tour. The parties agreed to continue working out possible dates for the Ukrainian-Korean summit, taking into account the situation with the pandemic in the two countries.

The interlocutors paid special attention to the implementation of specific infrastructure projects involving the investment potential of the Republic of Korea. The Korean party was invited to intensify cooperation in the development of high speed rail traffic in Ukraine, as well as to join the program "Large Construction", which, among other things, provides for the reconstruction and construction of 6.5 thousand km of roads in 2021.

The prospects of abolishing the visa regime for Ukrainian citizens by the Republic of Korea were also discussed. Ihor Zhovkva noted that this would be a powerful impetus for the further development of contacts between the two nations.

The Deputy Head of the Office of the President thanked the Republic of Korea for its assistance to Ukraine in combating the COVID-19 pandemic. The parties agreed on further cooperation in this direction.
