Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva met with Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to Ukraine Kaimo Kuusk.

The interlocutors discussed the steps taken by the leadership of the two countries to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure the protection of citizens.

Ihor Zhovkva noted that the decision to open the internal borders between Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania on May 15, as well as to restore the free movement of citizens of these countries was a confirmation of the success of the Baltic countries' efforts to counter the spread of the pandemic.

Kaimo Kuusk underscored Estonia's unwavering position as regards political support and provision of expert and other practical assistance to Ukraine, in particular on the implementation of important domestic reforms.

The Deputy Head of the Office of the President thanked Tallinn for its strong support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, in particular, taking into account Estonia's non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council for the period of 2020-2021.

During a meeting, special attention was paid to the importance of resuming the dynamics of bilateral political dialogue after the end of quarantine restrictions, including the preparation of the Second Digital Forum of Ukraine and Estonia, which is to take place later this year in Kyiv.
