Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine and the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea discussed cooperation in the context of the coronavirus pandemic

Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine Kwon Ki Chang discussed the topical issues of cooperation given the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ihor Zhovkva thanked the Korean party for their assistance in organizing the purchase of the necessary high quality medical equipment in Korea and its transportation to Ukraine.

He asked the Korean authorities to promptly authorize flights from Seoul that would ship the following batches of medical supplies.

Kwon Ki Chang thanked the Ukrainian party for assisting in the return of Korean citizens from Ukraine. Arrangements were made for the further cooperation to assist the citizens of the two countries in the course of the pandemic.

The parties discussed the key results of a recent phone conversation between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea informed that in the near future Ukraine will receive humanitarian aid for countering COVID-19, which was agreed on by the leaders of the two countries.

They also discussed the prospects of visa liberalization for the citizens of Ukraine by the Republic of Korea and the development of the highest-level bilateral political dialogue.
