Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva had a meeting with Minister of Transport and Communications of Qatar Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti.
In the context of discussing economic cooperation, the parties noted the importance of increasing investment cooperation between the two countries. In particular, Ihor Zhovkva welcomed the intention of QTerminals to invest in the development of Olbia port infrastructure. It is estimated that UAH 3.4 billion will be invested in the infrastructure of this port over the next 5 years. In this regard, Ihor Zhovkva informed of the Investment nanny initiative of the Ukrainian President designed to assist big foreign investors who intend to invest in the Ukrainian economy.
Ihor Zhovkva stressed the importance of continuing Ukraine-Qatar investment cooperation in other spheres as well, including road construction, energy development and hotel business.
During the meeting, the interest of the Ukrainian side in intensifying political dialogue with Qatar was underscored. In this context, the schedule of the highest-level visits for 2020 was discussed.
