Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Roman Mashovets had a meeting with US Chargé d'Affaires a.i. in Ukraine Kristina Kvien.
The parties discussed prospects and ways of further development and deepening of bilateral relations between Ukraine and the United States in the security, defense, military-economic and military-technical spheres. Particular attention was paid to the possibilities of structuring the existing bilateral formats of cooperation and exchange of experience on national security and defense, which is important for both countries.
Roman Mashovets stressed the need to expand bilateral cooperation in the context of strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and providing practical assistance by the United States. He informed of the steps taken by the Office of the President of Ukraine to create an effective national system of resilience and expressed interest in studying the American experience on this issue.
For her part, Kristina Kvien reaffirmed the unwavering support for Ukraine by the United States, in particular within the US National Security and Defense Assistance Package, and noted the importance of continuing defense reforms in Ukraine to maximize the efficiency of US military assistance.
At the initiative of the Deputy Head of the Office of the President, the parties agreed to intensify work on the development of a bilateral treaty basis as regards national security and defense.
