Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva met with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Ukraine Ayman Elgammal.
The interlocutors positively noted the fact that despite the pandemic Ukraine and Egypt managed to maintain a high dynamics of bilateral contacts. In this context, the parties discussed the results of the visit of the Ukrainian delegation to Cairo on October 26-29 this year and the talks held with senior Egyptian officials. Ihor Zhovkva and Ayman Elgammal exchanged views on the ways to intensify cooperation in trade, industry, education, space and healthcare.
During the conversation, the parties emphasized the need to implement projects of Ukrainian enterprises in Egypt in industry and infrastructure. The Deputy Head of the Office of the President noted the potential to increase exports of domestic products not only to Egypt, but also to other African countries.
Ayman Elgammal expressed willingness to expand bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. The Ambassador of Egypt also expressed interest in further increasing the import of Ukrainian grain. Special attention was paid to the establishment of exports of Ukrainian goods to the countries of the region.
The parties also agreed to continue preparations for the exchange of visits, in particular at the highest level, after the stabilization of the situation with coronavirus.
