Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Kyrylo Tymoshenko met with relatives of Ukrainians who disappeared during a trip abroad

Today, on June 9, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Kyrylo Tymoshenko met with relatives of six Ukrainian citizens who disappeared during a trip abroad.

On May 29, six friends-athletes from Berdychiv, aged 18 to 45, traveled to Bangladesh. The last time relatives communicated with them by phone was on May 31. Starting from June 1, they still cannot contact them. After numerous appeals to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Consulates of Ukraine in India, relatives of the disappeared turned to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. It is now known that six Ukrainians were detained by the police of Bangladesh. They were charged with ATM theft within the organized crime group and resisting local police officers during the detention.

At the meeting, attended by a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the parties agreed that in the near future a consular group, headed by Oleksandr Gromov, First Secretary for Consular Issues of the Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of India, will depart to Bangladesh to clarify the details of the situation and provide the necessary assistance, in particular, in search of a private lawyer for Ukrainian citizens.
