Zaporizhzhia hospital for war veterans must work – President

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed the importance of preserving the Zaporizhzhia hospital for war veterans and instructed the State Property Fund together with the Cabinet of Ministers to resolve the issue of transferring the buildings used by the institution to the regional state administration. This was discussed during the visit of the Head of State to the hospital during his working trip to the Zaporizhzhia region. The issue was raised by the head of the regional state administration Vitaliy Bohovin and local veterans.

"I believe that it is my duty as President, the duty of the state to do all this. We are very proud of everything you do, of what our boys and girls do in eastern Ukraine, defending our sovereignty," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

"Therefore, we will solve this issue - we have just talked to the State Property Fund. We will solve all this within a few weeks," the President said, emphasizing that veterans should receive high-quality medical care.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the Head of the State Property Fund Dmytro Sennychenko and instructed to work out this issue together with the Cabinet of Ministers as soon as possible so that the hospital could fully function and provide services to veterans.

The Head of State noted that there were many similar problems in Ukraine. To solve them, the Council of Veterans at the President's Office was established. He suggested that the head of the regional state administration work not only on the preservation, but also on the modernization and development of the medical institution.

The veterans with whom Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke also stressed the need to address this issue and emphasized the importance of the hospital for them.

"Our guys once defended the state and will defend it again when needed. But the issue of preserving their health and the rehabilitation they have to undergo require a really specialized institution. Therefore, the issue of preserving this institution is very important for us," one of the participants of the meeting said.

They also discussed the creation of a psychological support and rehabilitation center for combatants on the basis of the hospital, support for initiatives that would promote the creation of jobs for veterans.
