During his working visit to the Rivne region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in a meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities members from the Rivne region. The meeting was attended by more than 120 people: government officials, representatives of local authorities, businesses and banks.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the importance of supporting Ukrainian defenders, the development of regional cooperation with other countries, the arrangement of school shelters and the situation in the energy sector.
The Head of State emphasized that the priority is to ensure the protection of industrial and economic centers with a sufficient number of air defense systems.
“Thanks to our work and our partners, we are increasing the number of Patriots and other systems. Therefore, we will continue to work in this direction. And in August, September and October, we will have the necessary systems in our state,” the President said.
Representatives of local authorities noted that additional generating capacities are being installed in the Rivne region. Currently, 17 such installations are operating at heat supply and industrial enterprises. Also, almost 1200 houses in the region are equipped with solar panels.
The Head of State supported the proposal to expand the program of interest-free loans for the installation of alternative energy sources in social infrastructure facilities.
In addition, the participants of the meeting discussed the provision of shelters for educational institutions. In particular, they talked about the regulation of norms for the simplest shelters, which can be located in basements and semi-basements. Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the Government to work on this issue within a week and to help regions with the construction of shelters.
