Pursuant to the instruction of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Minister of the Interior Arsen Avakov flew immediately to the Ivano-Frankivsk region affected by the bad weather. They will hold a meeting with the commission on technogenic and ecological safety and emergencies there.
"First of all, you need to go to flooded inhabited localities, where houses and gardens are flooded, where people have no light. To help, we need to understand the scale of the damage, we need to hear people and see everything with our own eyes," Volodymyr Zelenskyy told the Prime Minister.
After assessing the situation, government officials will hold a conference call with the President of Ukraine to report the latest news, coordinate actions and organize humanitarian aid.
It bears reminding the day before, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with the government the issue of assistance to people suffering from floods and heavy rains, and set a task to send humanitarian aid to the affected regions.
