On the instructions of the President of Ukraine and the Head of the Presidential Office, the second round of consultations with the Netherlands on bilateral security arrangements was held today. This was a logical continuation of the dialogue initiated at the end of October within the implementation of the Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine.
The Ukrainian negotiating team was led by Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva. The consultations were also attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Mykola Tochytskyi, other representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, and the Presidential Office.
The head of the Dutch delegation, Director General for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Marcel de Vink, congratulated Ukraine on the recent important decision of the European Council to open negotiations on our country's accession to the EU and assured of further support on this path.
For his part, Ihor Zhovkva noted: "This decision is part of our common victory."
During the consultations, the parties discussed the key components of future bilateral security arrangements and agreed on a plan of further actions.
"The contribution of each partner is important in bringing our common victory closer and strengthening security. The contribution of the Netherlands has been extremely significant from the very beginning of the invasion, and we appreciate it," the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office emphasized.
