Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iuliia Sokolovska opened an online event organized by the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe, WHO in Ukraine and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
The event is dedicated to the rehabilitation, integration of people with disabilities and the use of assistive technologies in the context of the response to the ongoing war.
Iuliia Sokolovska emphasized that the issues of rehabilitation of victims of Russia's military aggression against Ukraine are extremely relevant and are constantly in the focus of the state leadership.
She also told the participants of the event about the norms implemented in our country and about ambitious plans. In particular:
-
The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health has been implemented into national legislation.
-
The development of an electronic rehabilitation module in the eHealth system is about to complete, which will allow for comprehensive recording of medical and non-medical services for patients.
-
The organizational process has been improved: all injured citizens - military and civilians - begin receiving rehabilitation care in a hospital immediately after surgery or other intervention (with the involvement of multidisciplinary teams).
-
Work is underway to set up assistive technology rooms in hospitals, where fitting prostheses will be picked for patients who will be taught how to use them.
According to the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, Ukraine will make an invaluable contribution to the development of rehabilitation in the world and will accumulate a huge amount of knowledge and practical skills in this area.
"Ukraine's recovery is primarily about restoring and developing human capital," emphasized Iuliia Sokolovska.
