In the framework of the working trip to the Volyn region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy got himself acquainted with the concept of development of the tourist potential of the region and visited the exposition "Tourist magnets and routes of Volyn".
The presentation took place in Lutsk Castle - the oldest building in the city. Construction of the Upper Castle began in the 1350s and was largely completed in the 1430s, although some elements changed over the following centuries. The castle is a monument of architecture and history of national importance and the main object of the historical and cultural reserve "Old Lutsk".
Lutsk Castle is depicted on a UAH 200 banknote and, according to the concept, is defined as the first tourist "magnet" of the region. Other locations of interest to tourists are the historical and cultural reserve "Ancient Volodymyr", the village of Svalovychi and the national park "Prypyat - Stokhid", the town of Olyka and the residence of the Radziwiłłs, Shatsky lakes.
Ihor Chulipa, Director of the Department of Foreign Relations, Investment Attraction and Tourism and Resorts of the Volyn Regional State Administration, reported to the President that appropriate tourist routes have been developed in the region on the basis of these "magnets".
"These routes are adapted - they can be both one-day and two-day, three-day, and in the case of kayaking - five-day," he said.
Tourist routes have mentioned infrastructure facilities where visitors can spend a night and eat. In addition, work is underway to develop 3D tours.
After the presentation, the Head of State had a short excursion in Lutsk Castle.
