On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the victory of the football club "Dynamo" (Kyiv) in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and the UEFA Super Cup of the 1974/1975 season, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with prominent players of the club.
The participants of the meeting watched a video dedicated to the outstanding successes of FC “Dynamo”.
The President stressed the importance of the victory the footballers gained 45 years ago.
"Raising the image of Ukraine both in the country and abroad - which is really lacking today - is possible only through such legendary victories," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The Head of State thanked Dynamo veterans who won the UEFA Super Cup in 1975 under the leadership of Valeriy Lobanovskyi.
"Ukraine has never had such a great victory," the President said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented state awards to the prominent players of the football club.
"The most important thing is what you did 45 years ago. This is a great reward," he said.
The President also congratulated the Ukrainian national football team on its victory over the Spanish national team in the UEFA Nations League match.
Representatives of FC “Dynamo” presented autographed balls, photos of the players and a retro T-shirt of the 1974/1975 season with the autographs of the club's veterans to the Head of State.
