Volodymyr Zelenskyy Met with the President of Finland and the Prime Ministers of Denmark, Norway and Iceland

On the sidelines of the Ukraine-Nordic Summit, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of Finland Alexander Stubb, Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen, Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre and Prime Minister of Iceland Bjarni Benediktsson.

The Ukrainian Head of State thanked these countries for their comprehensive assistance since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The President informed the leaders about the situation on the battlefield and Ukraine's defense needs.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the President of Finland for the defense assistance packages already provided and for Finland's readiness to participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine.

During the meeting with Mette Frederiksen, the President praised the recent announcement by the Danish Government of a powerful assistance package worth over USD 800 million and the active preparations for the transfer of the first fighter jets to Ukraine this summer.

The parties discussed ways of strengthening cooperation between the countries in the defense sphere.

The Head of State thanked Jonas Gahr Støre for Norway's assistance of more than USD 7 billion under the multi-year Nansen Support Programme for 2021-2027 and the increase of assistance to Ukraine by USD 1.2 billion.

"We highly appreciate Norway's contribution to the strengthening of Ukraine's air and missile defense, to the protection of Ukrainian lives. I thank Norway for its active participation in the coalition of modern fighter jets and for a clear signal that Norwegian F-16s will definitely be in the Ukrainian skies," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

During the meeting with the Prime Minister of Iceland, the President paid special attention to the recent approval by the Government of Iceland of long-term assistance to Ukraine for 2024-2028 in the amount of about USD 30 million for the current year.

With all the leaders, Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the preparations for the first inaugural Global Peace Summit in Switzerland and the importance of the widest possible representation of countries from all over the world.

The President of Ukraine thanked Finland, Denmark, Norway and Iceland for confirming their participation in the Summit and their readiness to work actively on the implementation of the Peace Formula.
