During a working trip to Zaporizhzhia region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting on the operational situation in the region and the course of hostilities within the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops.
The Head of State listened to the reports of Commander of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, Commander of the Donetsk operational and tactical grouping Eduard Moskaliov, Commander of the Zaporizhzhia operational and tactical grouping Serhiy Litvinov on the operational situation on the frontline within the areas of their responsibility.
The parties discussed the course of defense operations in the Avdiivka and Maryinka sectors and clarified further plans of Ukrainian units.
The President also presented state awards to the servicemen who are defending Ukraine. For personal courage and selflessness displayed in the defense of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the Head of State handed over the Presidential Cross of Military Merit to Major Yevhen Pavliuk and Colonel Volodymyr Pypka.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded two servicemen with the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, III class.
"I am very pleased to be here to award you. I know that you are fighting in the Zaporizhzhia sector, in Avdiivka. Please convey my warm greetings to your brothers-in-arms! Many thanks from all of us, from the people of Ukraine, for preserving Ukraine, for what you are doing every day. Immense gratitude to those who gave their lives for the sake of our country and independence. I wish you health, I wish you to be as strong as you are, to take care of your lives and the lives of your soldiers. I wish you victory!" the President said.
For security reasons, some of the awards were handed over to the military to be awarded at their places of service.
