In the framework of the working visit to Japan, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The parties discussed the current situation in Donbas.
“Achieving peace in Donbas and ending the bloodshed is an absolute priority for me and my team,” the President said.
I am very grateful to you for your efforts aimed at political and diplomatic settlement of the Donbas war and constant attention to the issue of restoring the territorial integrity of Ukraine,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
The leaders of the countries agreed that the Normandy format is today the key to stopping aggression against Ukraine, and that the meeting should be held in the near future.
“Ukraine has fulfilled its part to restore the functioning of the Normandy Four. We look forward to a meeting of the leaders of the Normandy Four in the near future, as all the obstacles have been eliminated," Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
The President invited Frank-Walter Steinmeier to visit Ukraine.
