Volodymyr Zelenskyy Met with the Delegation of the U.S. Congress

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with a bipartisan delegation of the United States Congress.

The meeting was attended by Members of the House of Representatives Jim Costa, Jimmy Panetta, Salud Carbajal (Democratic Party) and Don Bacon (Republican Party), Republican Senator from Ohio (2011-2023) Rob Portman, and Republican candidate for Congress in the 2024 elections Troy Downing.

The Head of State welcomed the visit of the Congressmen to Ukraine.

“I would like to thank the President and the U.S. Congress for the bipartisan support from the very beginning of this war. Thank you for passing a very important bill in Congress. I hope that all this will come to Ukraine as soon as possible and will strengthen our army. And we are grateful to all Americans for supporting our country,” he said.

The Head of State reminded that in the near future he plans to personally present the plan for Ukraine's victory to U.S. President Joseph Biden and the presidential candidates of the Republican and Democratic parties.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke in detail about the situation on the front and the priority needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas of further U.S. security and defense assistance. The priority is to obtain additional air defense systems, missiles for them and permission to use long-range weapons against Russian military targets.
