Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the US Deputy Secretary of State in Kryvyi Rih

During a working trip to the Dnipropetrovsk region, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegun in Kryvyi Rih. The meeting took place after a phone conversation between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

At the meeting, Volodymyr Zelenskyy raised the issue of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the United States, in particular regarding financial and military support of our state. Stephen Biegun stressed that the United States is a strategic partner of Ukraine, and added that Ukraine enjoys bipartisan support in the United States.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed in detail about the state of negotiations on ending the war in Donbas and promoting peace in the Minsk and Normandy formats. The US Deputy Secretary of State called the maintenance of a comprehensive and full ceasefire regime for 31 days a great achievement.

The parties also discussed the strategy of action given the pandemic. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the countries need to cooperate in order to return to normal life as soon as possible and restore the work of all sectors of the economy.

Speaking of international politics, Stephen Biegun praised Ukraine's position on non-interference in the US elections.

In addition, the parties discussed the events in Belarus, agreeing that the situation needs stabilization and peaceful settlement.

In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the US Deputy Secretary of State visited PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih. The company is one of the largest producers of rolled steel in Ukraine.
