During a working trip to the Chernivtsi region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the village of Marshyntsi, which was hit by a large-scale flood this year, and watched the destroyed bridge over the Prut River.

According to the Head of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration, with the completion of the construction of the bridge over the Prut River, the transport connection of the European Union with the Central region of Ukraine will be improved and the road network of districts will be unloaded taking into account the reconstruction of the checkpoint across the state border "Dyakivtsi - Rakovets".

The cost of the project is currently UAH 377 million. UAH 60 million has been allocated for it in 2020, so another UAH 317 million is needed to complete it. The Head of Ukravtodor assured that the bridge will have been built by the end of this year.

The President asked the villagers what help is needed to overcome the consequences of the flood. Local residents expressed hope that the Prut crossing would finally be built, and invited the Head of State to visit Marshyntsi once again to open the bridge.
