Volodymyr Zelenskyy urges government representatives to visit mining towns to better understand the needs of the regions

The Government should pay greater attention to the problems of the regions of Ukraine, in particular the mining towns, as stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his speech at the All-Ukrainian Meeting of Coal Industry Workers of Ukraine.

He stressed that over the past 20 years, the authorities had paid little attention to the mining regions, and many problems had been accumulated there, including wage arrears and lack of high-quality infrastructure.

“So let's prepare a trip to all these mining towns. But with a plan, so that we can watch in the eyes of people without discomfort,” the President said.

According to him, representatives of large energy companies such as DTEK can also be involved in the preparation of these trips.

“Let's see how many people live there, what the enterprise should be there. It can also be a private enterprise, because people there are competent. And with this plan as regards what we can build there, we will come to these towns and see the conditions of schools and kindergartens there,” the Head of State suggested.
