Volodymyr Zelenskyy commends the work of the Ukrainian delegation at the last PACE session

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the activities of Ukraine in the PACE with the representatives of the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the President.

Head of the permanent delegation of Ukraine to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, people's deputy from the "Servant of the People" faction Maria Mezentseva said that the last visit of the Ukrainian delegation was very productive. According to her, the main achievement was the appeal of the powers of the delegation of the Russian Federation to the PACE due to the provided facts of violations taking place not only in Ukraine, but also in other countries.

She conveyed greetings to the Head of State from Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Pejčinović Burić and stressed that the Secretary General of the Council of Europe is going to visit Ukraine.

"The fundamental issue for us is to explain in the PACE what the Crimean Platform is and to invite the world community to join the restoration of international law and the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

Maria Mezentseva said that the invitation to the Crimean Platform was welcomed by many strategic partners and international friends of Ukraine, including the Baltic States, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Denmark, Sweden, Germany and many others.

The MP stressed that Ukraine in the PACE ceases to be a country of "one issue" and takes the initiative of dialogue on many issues of the international agenda. In particular, our country takes an active part in promoting "environmental democracy". Maria Mezentseva noted that many modern Ukrainian laws reflect such European trends as, for example, the movement towards landscaping and the introduction of energy-saving technologies.

She also noted that there was a constructive dialogue and adequate friendly work between the members of the Ukrainian delegation.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is re-launching the competition for the election of a judge to the European Court of Human Rights according to the rules of the European institutions, and shortly our country will be represented in the ECHR by a highly qualified judge with international experience.
