President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he would soon sign a decree on the implementation of the three-year strategy for the development of judicial bodies and constitutional judiciary, which was presented during the All-Ukrainian Forum "Ukraine 30. Development of Justice".
During the video call with the All-Ukrainian Forum from “Shchastya” checkpoint in the Luhansk region, where Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived with President of the European Council Charles Michel, the President noted that European partners support the Ukrainian government not only in the settlement of the conflict in Donbas, but also in many other issues, including judicial reform and improvement of the judicial system of Ukraine.
"Yesterday, a three-year strategy for the development of judicial bodies and constitutional judiciary was presented at the forum. To implement it, I am going to sign a relevant decree in the near future," the President of Ukraine noted.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also thanked the President of the European Council and, in his person, the entire European Union for the important expert assistance in building a stable and independent judicial system in our country.
For his part, Charles Michel, who is visiting Ukraine for the first time, assured of the European Union's support for Ukraine's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and for reforms.
"We are making very important progress under your leadership, Mr. President. And much needs to be done in judicial reform and the fight against corruption. Ukrainian citizens deserve a judicial system that respects justice, applies it and demonstrates that there is no impunity for crimes," he said during the video call.
According to the President of the European Council, judicial reform will also help improve the business climate in Ukraine.
"Mr. President, we are your friends. We will support you at every stage of your path to the rule of law and judicial reform in Ukraine," Charles Michel said.
