Despite the opinions and predictions of individual military commanders and representatives of partner states, the timing of the end of the war depends on many factors, including Ukraine's resilience. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the end-of-year press conference in Kyiv.
"War, victory, defeat, stagnation depend on many decisions, many risks, many areas. But mostly, it all depends on us. If we preserve our resilience, we will end the war sooner. If we keep our spirits up," the Head of State said, answering the questions of media representatives.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukrainians cannot cede their country to the enemy and are willing to pursue victory.
"If we preserve all these goals, everything we have, do everything we can, and much more than each of us is capable of, I am confident that we will be able to bring this victory closer," the President said.
The Head of State rejected the possibility of Ukraine suffering a defeat from Russia in the current situation, as the country managed to stand firm at the beginning of the full-scale invasion despite the occupation of a large part of its territory and constant enemy strikes on key infrastructure.
"Now we have a different situation. I agree that there are challenges regarding the amount of aid, artillery shells, anti-tank guided weapons, artillery systems, especially of the 155mm caliber, concerning the repair of these systems, dispatching, etc. But gradually, hubs are opening up," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The President emphasized that despite all the difficulties, we must fight for Ukraine's victory every day.
"We must live in Ukraine and fight. And truly believe, not just in words, but by bringing results closer with our actions. Every day," the Head of State is convinced.
