President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to be vaccinated against the COVID-19 together with the servicemen after Ukrainian doctors receive the vaccine. The President said this in an interview for Ukrainian TV channels within the forum "Ukraine 30. Coronavirus: Challenges and Responses", which began in Kyiv.
"I will definitely be vaccinated with our military. As Supreme Commander-in-Chief, I must do this. It will be in the first part, but in the second phase," the President said.
According to him, almost 200,000 doses of the vaccine from Pfizer should first arrive for Ukrainian health workers who contact patients with COVID-19.
"We are now having direct talks with the countries that will donate their surpluses. We already have contacts with Poland," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The Head of State also noted that he was ready to get vaccinated against COVID-19 live.
"We all need to show people vaccinations live. There is no other way out - only personally," the President stated.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also stands for inoculating his parents against COVID-19.
"It's important to show that we're not afraid to vaccinate our parents because of their age. I believe that this should be done," he stressed.
The President noted that in Ukraine, certain quarantine restrictions for people who have been vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 may be lifted.
"We cannot be in a tense format of restrictions constantly," the President summed up.
