During a working visit to the Republic of Poland, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Nazi concentration camp.
In the State Museum of the concentration camp, former Auschwitz prisoners who survived the terrible times of the Holocaust delivered speeches. They shared memories and called on the international community to never forget the terrible tragedy.
"All of you must make sure that the memory of this place and other places where people were sent to death is preserved and that it will never repeat again," 95-year-old Bat-Sheva Dagan, who survived in the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp, said.
Together with other delegation leaders, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy put a lighted icon lamp on the memory board with an inscription in Ukrainian.
