After the start of vaccination against COVID-19, Ukraine will take mirror measures regarding the conditions of admission to its territory of unvaccinated citizens of other countries. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview for Ukrainian TV channels during the forum "Ukraine 30. Coronavirus: Challenges and Responses", which began in Kyiv.
"Will the world travel? It all depends on us, on people. Because I am sure that Europe will not allow you to travel freely unless you are vaccinated. If people want to go somewhere - vacation or business trip, they will have to be vaccinated," the President said.
Answering the journalist's question whether unvaccinated foreigners will be allowed to enter Ukraine when the vaccination starts, the Head of State noted that our country should have mirror, parity relations with other states, especially with its neighbors - the European Union.
"If they allow you to enter with some stamps, passports or confirmed vaccinations, then we must do the same," the President said.
As for the situation inside Ukraine, according to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, quarantine bans will be lifted for people who are vaccinated or have recovered from COVID-19.
At the same time, the President clarified that vaccination in Ukraine will be voluntary, but everyone who works in the public sector and has many contacts must be vaccinated.
"I believe that all people who work for the state, who receive money from the state and who have constant contact with people, have no right to refuse vaccination. Except for those having counterindication," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
