During a working trip to the Cherkasy region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the Kraina Dobra training and rehabilitation center, where 100 children with severe developmental disabilities are gaining knowledge and undergoing rehabilitation. The institution has a rehabilitation department that provides services for correction, rehabilitation and restoration of lost functions to children with special educational needs from all over the region.
The Head of State got himself acquainted with the reconstruction of the building of the communal institution, which is carried out in the framework of the National Program "Great Construction". Volodymyr Zelenskyy was told that after the renovation of the center, children and their parents will be able to receive educational services, and a gym will be open. There will also be additional rooms for living and correctional work.
Currently, the building is 70% renovated. Sponsorship funds are also involved in the construction.
The President praised the plan to upgrade the institution and said he wanted the children to be able to start using the upgraded infrastructure as soon as possible.
"Yes. We want to finalize as soon as possible, but it is fine. It is better to delay a little, but to do it for the children, to adjust the construction along the way to make it better,” the Head of State said.
Separately, the President was told that, in addition to the renovation of the building of the training and rehabilitation center, a number of other projects are being implemented in the region in the framework of the "Great Construction". In particular, reconstruction of the Cherkasy Academic Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater named after T. Shevchenko, where a fire broke out in 2015. The swimming pool at the Chornobai Sports Complex is also being renovated. In addition, the roof and insulation of the school in Talne are being overhauled, two stadiums in Cherkasy and one in Zhashkiv are being built, as well as a kindergarten in Chyhyryn is being reconstructed. Another stadium is being reconstructed in Zolotonosha.
In addition, eight ER departments in hub hospitals are being renovated in the region.
The readiness of the facilities is now 40-95%, and they will have been put into operation by November 1.
