Volodymyr Zelenskyy: Government should help families of victims of An-26 crash near Chuhuiv in receiving compensation

To fulfill the task of the Head of State, the government is working to pay compensation to the families of servicemen and cadets who died in the crash of An-26 near Chuhuiv. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a working trip to the Vinnytsia region.

"I think money is the last thing that can interest families. Unfortunately, we cannot return their children to them, but the government has received the position of the President's Office, and they are working to ensure that each family receives more money for support," the President noted, answering questions from the media.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that this is a terrible tragedy that must be thoroughly investigated.

According to him, the victims came from different regions of Ukraine, and farewell ceremonies can take place after the identification of the bodies.

"An expert commission has to work, they identify the bodies of the dead. That is the procedure. This may take two or three weeks. I understand that such things need to be done urgently, especially when they are awaited, first of all, by relatives and friends," the President said.
