President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope that the election of Estonia to the list of non-permanent members of the UN Security Council would promote our country's efforts in restoring sovereignty and territorial integrity.
After the meeting with President of the Republic of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid in Tallinn, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that they were meeting for the fourth time this year, and it "testifies to the high dynamics of Ukrainian-Estonian relations".
“Our countries share common values, common positions and common challenges on the key issues of European and international agenda. I very much appreciate your personal attention to Ukraine, your clear position in support of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” the Head of State said during a joint press conference with Kersti Kaljulaid.
The President of Ukraine once again thanked for the decision not to recognize Russian passports illegally issued to the citizens of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied Donbas.
Also, Volodymyr Zelenskyy once again congratulated Estonia on having been elected non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the period of 2020-2021. "I am sure that Ukraine's efforts to restore sovereignty will receive additional valuable support from Estonia," the President of Ukraine said.
For her part, President of the Republic of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid confirmed that Estonia continued to uphold the territorial integrity of Ukraine, and recalled that she had also visited Donbas during her visit to Ukraine.
She also reiterated her support for Ukraine's ambitions as regards NATO and the EU. "It will take time, but both international organizations must remain open to Ukraine," the Estonian President is confident.
