Ukraine needs to develop and implement progressive ideas and new technologies in order to be successful and competitive in today's world, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during the award ceremony of the Ukrainian Startup Fund grant contest.
“I have devoted most of my conscious life to generating and finding new smart, interesting, cool ideas and, most importantly, people. I know what ideas are worth nowadays. Today, in the 21st century, I think it is the most valuable. After all, good ideas and intellectual solutions are needed by everyone: small business, powerful corporations, small towns and multi-million metropolitan cities,” the President said.
At the same time, the President noted that good ideas crucially needed support and faith. He noted that the Ukrainian land had always been rich in talents unnoticed by the state. The Ukrainian Startup Fund aims to change this by providing grants to young entrepreneurs.
“It helps small business grow big. We want young entrepreneurs to get a real chance to bring their bold dreams and bold ideas to life. And with them - our common dream of a new, modern, progressive Ukraine,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
According to him, the provision of such state funding is not blindly following the trend, but understanding that it is a matter of survival for the state.
"In order to be successful and competitive in today's world, we need to develop and implement progressive ideas, digitization and the latest technologies," the Head of State said, emphasizing that Ukraine should become the largest startup hub in Europe.
