President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the leadership of the Ukrainian World Congress and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress in Toronto on July 2.

The Head of State thanked Ukrainians of Canada for the comprehensive support for our country.

"I thank each of you for the constant support for our independence and territorial integrity. Your volunteering and social activities can hardly be overestimated. I am talking about your support for Ukraine since the beginning of Russian aggression," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

Almost 1.4 million Ukrainians live in Canada. It is the second-largest Ukrainian diaspora in the world.

The President also emphasized the importance of supporting the Ukrainian language and the Euro-Atlantic course of our country.

"The Constitution stipulates that the only official language in Ukraine is Ukrainian. As President and guarantor of the Constitution, I will defend the Ukrainian language, our sovereignty and our course towards Europe and NATO," he said.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the steps the Ukrainian authorities can take to create better opportunities for Ukrainians living abroad to visit and work freely in Ukraine.

"I want to do everything for you not to come to Ukraine on a visit, but to come back home to Ukraine," the President emphasized.

He called on the Ukrainian community of Canada to actively engage in building a new, democratic and prosperous Ukraine.
