The President congratulated his colleague on the successful holding of early elections to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.
The President of Ukraine expressed confidence that the convincing victory of democratic pro-European forces in the elections in Moldova paves the way to the implementation of the program of ambitious internal transformations, creates conditions for the intensification of bilateral relations in all areas.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed confidence that Ukraine and Moldova will coordinate their actions on the path of European integration even more effectively, in particular in the context of the activities of the "Associated Trio" with the participation of Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia.
The leaders exchanged views on the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Presidents of Ukraine and Moldova also stated the need to intensify Ukrainian-Moldovan economic cooperation and implement specific projects. The Head of State noted that Ukraine had already started the construction of a modern highway connecting Kyiv and Chișinău, and the construction of a border bridge over the Dniester River.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the invitation to Maia Sandu to take part in the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform and ceremonial events marking the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence in August 2021.
