In Salt Lake City, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska met with leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, whose members make up the majority of Utah's population.
The President spoke about the consequences of Russian terror on the spiritual life of Ukraine and Ukrainians, including the destruction of 170 and damage to hundreds of religious organizations.
Elder Quentin L. Cook pointed out that the Church of Latter-day Saints has been engaged in humanitarian activities in Ukraine since 1994; in particular, its volunteers helped victims of the July 8 attack on Okhmatdyt and other facilities in Kyiv and during previous Russian shelling.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the religious community for its active volunteer work in our country and for the prayers. He spoke about the need for further humanitarian assistance, construction of housing for temporarily displaced persons and arrangement of shelters in public places.
