President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz, who came to Ukraine on a visit, met with wounded warriors in Kyiv.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Olaf Scholz discussed with defenders the nature of their wounds, received while defending Ukraine in the Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk and Sumy regions, and the progress of their treatment.
“Thank you for your service and defense of Ukraine. You are the heroes. Ukraine honors and is proud of its defenders. Get well and take care of yourselves,” the Head of State said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the Orders “For Courage,” III class, to personnel from the National Guard, the National Police and the State Border Guard Service.
The Ukrainian defenders thanked the Chancellor for the assistance provided by Germany, in particular for air defense systems. Olaf Scholz wished the warriors a speedy recovery.
The President also presented awards to the medical staff: the Orders of Merit, III class, and Medals “For Saved Life.”
“Thank you for your work. It is challenging work that is not covered by the media and is not on air. But it is vital because you bring our guys back to life. Thank you and take care of yourselves,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
