President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy considers his main authority to be responsible for what is happening in the country and to keep his word to the Ukrainian people.
"I am the President of the whole country. For me, Sumy is the same city as Kyiv, Kryvyi Rih and Lviv. As any city in Ukraine. I do care about the programs we implement. I do care what happens to them. When I say that we are building 160 kilometers of roads in the Sumy region, I do care… Then I will have to be accountable to people,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, answering a journalist's question during a working trip to the Sumy region.
The Head of State said he wants to see for himself the quality of roads that are being built, the schools and kindergartens, for which budget funds were allocated, to see whether these institutions are provided with everything necessary.
"According to the Constitution, I was elected by the people of Ukraine, and I am responsible for what is being built in the country. Yes, this is not my authority, but I want to be responsible for what is happening here. And this is the most important authority of the President," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
He noted that today, as part of the working trip to the Sumy region, he visited the Memorial to the ATO Heroes and talked there with the relatives of the fallen soldiers who have unresolved problems and questions to the authorities.
"As long as I have strength, I will go to the regions and check the work. Like it or not,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
