Half of the 210 promised ER departments, which are being built at the initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, are ready. By the end of this year, modern equipment will be delivered there. This was announced by Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Chernyshov at the traditional conference call on the prevention of the spread of COVID-19, which was chaired by the President.
"I know that due to the epidemic, construction began much later than planned and that the other half of the departments have already completed project documentation. But I think we need to speed up as much as possible. These departments are not just construction projects. This is the life and health of our people," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that currently more than 63,000 beds have been allocated for patients with COVID-19, more than 35,000 of which are connected to oxygen. More than 27,000 beds are occupied by such patients. The process of routing patients is also being improved, Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov said.
The National Police of Ukraine informed that 14,000 protocols were drawn up during the week for violating the mask regime in public places, and 465,000 hryvnias in fines were paid to the budget.
In addition, the Prime Minister stressed that today on the portal and in the Diia mobile app people started applying for one-time financial assistance from the state for the period of enhanced quarantine restrictions.
"As of this morning, more than five thousand people have applied. According to preliminary estimates, almost a million people are eligible for reimbursement of eight thousand hryvnias. Registration will last from today to December 31 inclusive. Those who register on December 29-31 will receive payment in early January. Other applicants are to receive payments by the New Year," the Prime Minister said.
