Volodymyr Zelenskyy Began His Visit to the United States with Honoring the Victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has begun his working visit to the United States to participate in the events of the 75th NATO Summit in Washington, D.C.

The Head of State and First Lady Olena Zelenska visited the Memorial to the Victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 and honored the memory of those who suffered from Stalin's totalitarian regime.

The Presidential couple also spoke with representatives of the Ukrainian community in the United States. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted the consistent activity and volunteer assistance to Ukrainian warriors from the community.

"I want to thank you for your voice. It is very resonant. Thank you for making the streets of the United States remember Ukraine. This sends a signal to other states and European countries. It is important to maintain this unity," the President emphasized.

He also thanked the Ukrainian community for their work in the United States aimed at bringing Ukraine closer to NATO membership as soon as possible.

In Washington, Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with President of the United States Joseph Biden, Majority and Minority Leaders of both Houses of Congress. Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been invited to the 75th Summit of the North Atlantic Alliance and will participate in a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council at the level of Heads of State and Government; he will also hold a series of meetings with the leaders of the countries participating in the Summit.

In particular, on the sidelines of the event, the strengthening of Ukraine's air defense and cooperation within the fighter jet coalition will be discussed.
