The perpetrators of the murder of activist Kateryna Handziuk have already received a court verdict. Those who ordered this crime will also be imprisoned. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a press conference in Kyiv.
"During my presidential term, the people who killed were imprisoned. We know who ordered. Now the case has been submitted to the court. And the court, I'm sure, will give a fair verdict. And customers will be imprisoned. The last step is the court," the Head of State said, expressing confidence that customers will receive a fair verdict.
At the same time, the President noted that such a high-profile trial should be completely independent.
"We can't put pressure on the court, but we will do everything to make everything fair, for these people to be imprisoned," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
As for the case of the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet, according to the President, it is more complicated.
"If the investigation, and then the court, proves that the people who are now the probable murderers (are guilty - ed.), they will be imprisoned. If not, those people who brought this case to court and accused the innocent people will be held accountable,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy summed up.
