The Victory Plan is a document the implementation of which will strengthen Ukraine both militarily and geopolitically, providing the Ukrainian people with certainty and confidence in the future. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement during a press conference in Brussels.
The Head of State noted that the first point of the Plan is an invitation to NATO. This does not mean membership, but it is a sign that Ukraine is not alone and will definitely become a member of the Alliance.
“This is about strengthening people not just with weapons, but with confidence and certainty – knowing what tomorrow holds for them, their country, their city, village, family, children, and what kind of country they will live in after the war,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The President emphasized that if the world does not support Ukraine in this, it would be a grave mistake and a privilege for Russia.
“The invitation to NATO is a preventive step: to show that it is not Putin who changes the course of the whole world, but, on the contrary, the whole world is ready to change any aggressor who begins to live outside global rules,” the Head of State stressed.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also mentioned that most of the EU member states, whose leaders spoke at the European Council meeting, expressed their support for the Victory Plan.
“I am glad they heard some details from me, and that our teams will continue working,” he added.
According to the President, the Victory Plan is a bridge to the second Peace Summit, where Ukraine should be represented with the strongest possible position.
