President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a working meeting with Dalia Grybauskaitė, President of the Republic of Lithuania in 2009-2019.
The President noted Dalia Grybauskaitė's significant personal contribution to the development and strengthening of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Lithuania.
"I know that you love Ukraine, you have done a lot for its sovereignty and support. We are very grateful to you and are always happy to welcome you," Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
Dalia Grybauskaitė noted that the Ukrainian people are heroes who fight for their country and its future.
The parties also discussed Ukraine's progress towards membership in the European Union and NATO. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted the role of Dalia Grybauskaitė, as during her presidency Lithuania became one of the most loyal supporters of our state’s course towards full membership in these organizations.
The President of Ukraine informed the interlocutor about the difficult security situation in Donbas and in the temporarily occupied Crimea. He also informed the former President of Lithuania about the main tasks of the Crimean Platform initiative and told about the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen initiated by Ukraine, which will take place as part of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
