Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the Prime Minister of Sweden

During the meeting with Prime Minister of Sweden Stefan Löfven, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked him for participating in the inaugural summit of the Crimea Platform and constantly supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country.

For his part, Stefan Löfven noted that the summit of this initiative is a strong signal of the need to deoccupy Crimea both abroad and for Ukrainian society.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his sincere gratitude to the Swedish side for its assistance in organizing the exposition of values important for Ukrainian statehood - the original Constitution of Hetman Pylyp Orlyk of 1710 and the Hetman's mace, which are currently in St. Sophia's Cathedral.

The President discussed with the Prime Minister of Sweden further cooperation on the agenda of Ukraine's relations with the EU and prospects for cooperation within NATO's enhanced opportunities partnership.

The security issues related to Russia's implementation of the Nord Stream 2 project have become separate topics for substantive dialogue.

The parties also discussed the tense situation on Belarus' borders with neighboring countries due to the growing flow of illegal migrants and Russia's West 2021 exercise, which is worsening the security situation in the region.

The President of Ukraine informed his interlocutor about the situation in Donbas and thanked the Swedish side for the projects implemented by the defense agencies, in particular in the field of demining.

In addition, during the discussion of the possibilities of filling bilateral relations with specific projects, Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited the Swedish side to take part in the creation of a network of waste processing plants in Ukraine.

The Prime Minister of Sweden noted the progress of Ukraine in implementing important reforms.

Stefan Löfven invited Volodymyr Zelenskyy to visit Sweden.
