President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Samantha Power, who is on a visit to Ukraine.
The Head of State thanked Samantha Power for the visit and unprecedented support provided to Ukraine by the United States and the Agency in particular.
"We are sincerely grateful to the United States, President Biden, the Congress, you personally and all Americans for their unprecedented support of Ukraine. It is extremely important for us to have such a reliable ally. I appreciate that you visited Odesa yesterday. Even despite the fact that the city is experiencing intensified Russian missile terror these days. It is extremely important to personally see what is happening in Ukraine today," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The Head of State praised active interaction with USAID and noted the important role of the Agency in consolidating assistance to our country.
The parties also focused on discussing further joint steps to meet Ukraine's priority needs in the face of continued Russian aggression, particularly in the areas of social protection, healthcare and education.
The President emphasized the importance of financial and humanitarian assistance provided to Ukraine through the Agency and expressed gratitude for USAID's contribution to food security and for recent initiatives and decisions to provide additional support for small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine.
The parties also discussed further joint actions after Russia's unilateral withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative, as well as the development of additional export routes for Ukrainian agricultural products.
